These shipments transport cattle who cannot make the ship's harsh journey, and sheep who are needed immediately for slaughter over specific holidays.

  • Two Israeli airlines are shipping cattle and sheep to be slaughtered: El Al and CAL (cargo airlines)
  • The animal are imported from Eastern Europe
  • The animals are forcibly crammed into designated containers hours before takeoff and stay there, wallowing in their own feces, until they are loaded onto trucks and transported (sometimes a couple of hours away) to the quarantine areas
  • The entire process might last over 24 hours, and is being supervised by a single point who can control the entire process.
